Photography Plan for Film Magazine

'Sight & Sound' film magazine is going to be the influence for my own film magazine front cover creation. The photography used for their front cover consists mainly of male actors who seem to be aged between mid 20s to 50s. The shots that they mainly use are front-shots with close-ups and sometimes from an angle or mid-shots from the front. The lighting they use either consists of front lighting with very minimum shadows showing or side-angle lighting so that it creates an chiaroscuro affect on the other side of their face.

The majority of the shots consist of the model on the front cover to either look away from the camera or directly at it. However, even with the model looking at the camera; it can also seem as if they are looking at the camera but really they're looking on top of the lens of the camera so it gives the illusion that they're looking into the camera when they're really not.

The make-up used for the movie stars appears to be very natural since they are male so it would only be typically natural for male movie stars to wear very little make-up when it comes to doing photoshoots for more serious and formal film magazines.
